House of bricks

Kia Ora

I am going to tell you about the time we did the house of bricks

Hello today we did the house of bricks. House of bricks was when the people from a Lego place came and taught us how to build amazing towers and a bunch of other stuff.

My favorite Lego activity was pass the bricks because I got what I didn’t expect and it turned out great and got the best that I could have imagined.

My least favorite Lego activity was the tower challenge because we were going great but everyone wanted it to not be hollow and it took forever and when it was done it all fell apart and that made me feel agitated.w

The activity that tested my perseverance the most was the car challenge because when we got it wrong we didn’t sulk we modified it and made it better and we also learnt that adding wings make it go faster

The most challenging activity was the car challenge because everytime we thought we got it everyone else went further.

I enjoyed working collaboratively with others because we came up with more ideas and they were better ideas.

What do you like to build ?

Wondrous Writing

Kia Ora,

Welcome back to my blog. This week in writing we have been learning about explanation writing and our goal is: Support ideas with detail, use some complex sentences to create pace, flow and interest, support ideas with detail, write content relevant to the task. We got to chose a topic to write about and I chose How to take care of a dog. Here is my work. I hope you enjoy reading it.

How to take Care of a Dog

Woof woof bark bark, These are just some of the little noises that come from our man’s best friend, a dog!! We all love dogs but not everyone knows how to take care of a dog and that is what I am here to tell you .

Dog Food

Dog food I think that you should by nood, it is a brand of dog food and if your dog doesn’t like it then they will give you a refund. You should give your dog 1 scoop if they are a bit round, if they are skinny then I’d say 1 and a half scoops. Hope your dog likes their life in the nood. (no pun intended)

Exercise

In my opinion I think 3 walks a week would be great and it should be 10 - 20 minutes long. When walking your dog you should buy a harness because when you have a collar they could be running and when you stop them they will get choked in the throat. But with a harness it won’t choke them. But they can wear one in and around the house.

Conclusion

In conclusion I think that when adopting or buying a dog you, should think of all of the important things that I have told you in this speech. I hope your dog is as cute as mine.

( JK no dog is cuter than MY dog DOUG )

Marvoless Margret Mahy

Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog, listen to this ...

Last term we went on a trip to Margret Mahy Park and we are doing PBL projects on what we saw there some people are doing pou's and others are doing mats, my group is doing awa and rakou it's basically snakes and ladders but with rivers and trees.

Here is my recount enjoy

 Intro

On the 20th of May 2021 Thursday all of Tumu, a bit of Kaupeka and some parent helpers including my mum all went to Margaret Mahy. It was a little chilly and cold so all of us had to bring a jacket and a jersey but then it got hot then cold then hot then cold it was a endless cycle but it was the most fun time learning than I ever had !

My favourite part of the trip was Feeding the eels because we got to learn about them and I feed a family of eels.

Something I learnt was

EELS: that female eels are bigger than males and that they don’t know there gender or have babies until they are 10.

STORY ARC : There is a story by Margaret Mahy in the story arc called “The man whose mother was a pirate”.

THE MATS : The tiles in the mats can be taken out in case of an emergency.

WAKA: When we were doing the Waka I learnt we haft to wait for the commands to start rowing and the we haft to yell “ HE HA HE HA “.

VICTORIA SQUARE: And lastly at Victoria square we learnt that it used to be called market square because all of the maori people used to trade there food at the market but after they built the Queen Victoria statue and after the big earth quake they renamed it Victoria square .

The thing I found the most interesting was the Waka

This trip has helped me with my PBL because we could gather all of our crayon  rubbing art and make our own mural or we could all design a pou and use all of our ideas into  one mini pou for each of our hubs .

Thanks for reading my blog post, hoped you enjoyed
